'99 9-3, 57k. Looked around the car this weekend trying to improve/smooth idle. Looked into the throttle body, not 'very' dirty, cleaned it up a little, then took off the IAC valve and looked inside. The valve was partly open, and looked somewhat oily/dirty on one side. Question: should it be open like that (the car was cool), and it didn't seem to move. Is cleaning as simple as spraying inside with carb cleaner or similar? I remember reading about re-oiling it after cleaning. Suggestions on oil? Lithium grease (spray?). That and plugs will be next weekends little project. Thanks.
