Remember that height aspect is a ratio of the tire's width. So, if you go from a 215/45 to a 225/45, you not only get 10mm wider but also 4.5mm taller (45% of the extra 10mm width added to the sidewall height). This puts the top of the wider tread 9mm higher in the wheel well. If you go from 215/45 to 215/50, you get no wider but you gain 5% sidewall height (10.75mm), & the top of the tire is now 21.5mm higher in the wheel well (nearly a full inch taller). If we go to your desired size, we're both 10mm wider & 5% taller overall, & now the wider tire's 31.5mm higher up in the wheel well. You may be OK unloaded & driving straight, but put 3 passengers in the car or make 3-point turns & you're scrubbing stuff.
