Just read the 9- 3 Vector review from C&D. Stats w/6sp manual tranny: 0-60 in 7.3secs, 1/4 in 15.4secs @ 93mph, brakes from 70 in 172ft, skidpad is 0.83top speed in 5th is 148mph.
Highs: Exterior styling, quick turbo response, sharp handling, excellent seats.
Lows: Slow shifting tranny, confusing twin dash displays, no htachback.
The Verdict: A capable sports sedan that is only a hatchback away from being truly unique.
Interesting they lament the missing hatchback that they were obviously not fond of.
They blamed the "numb shifter" and grinding 1st to 2nd shifts for its poorer than expected acceleration performance They liked its handling, yet fail to mention the unique ReAxs rear steering. The stereo controls confused them with its plethora of buttons and the menu driven options just to change from FM to AM, for example.
Other than that, it was a mixed review at best. Rather disappointing. The article itself could have been written better, though-as it leaves with no impression of if they really like the car or not. They claim it finished higher in the 10Best competition than any SAAB in recent memory, but failed to endorse or condemn the car in the end.
Any comments from other who've read it?
