Let's get things straight. The interior of the new 9-3 is very nicely driver centered as far as layout goes. I'm glad they are still slightly curving the center console towards the driver in a day when even BMW and Mercedes are going to straighter family oriented dash [The BMW 7 series and the new 2004 5 series. Although the 3 series remains a nice driver oriented dash][Also the MB S and E series is going to the more open and straight dash].
Now the plastics, although OK, are not of the same quality as the BMW or Audi.
The Germans are using softer feel plastics. I definately would not disqualify the Saab solely based on this comment because I feel overall it is a great value, with great seats, etc., but it would be great if Saab upgraded a bit.
