Last month I was at a stop light and my Viggen (24,000 miles) just died completely, no dash lights, no radio, no engine. Started right up and was on my way. Brought it to the dealer and described the problem. He said it would be difficult to diagnose because it was an intermittent problem. Being in the network technology business I understand completely about how hard it is to troubleshoot intermittent problems and bought his answer. They replaced the ignition switch. I guess that was not a bad guess.
I found out about this BB today and am thrilled to exchange Saab stuff with the other members. If more Saab service representatives reviewed these pages they would gain a tremendous amount of incite into the nuances of their products and be able to fix the problems first time around.
Now, I wonder just where and when I might be when this happens again. In a snow storm in Boston? Not a comforting thought of reliability.
