On a related note, there is a lot of parts sharing with Opel too (another struggling part of GM). There are positives and negatives to the Saab-GM relationship. Saab has more resources to pull on within GM. I am amazed at the amount of influence GM has allowed Saab to have in the development of the Epsilon platform. All the Epsilon platforms are stronger as a result. However, I do think the new 9-3 loses some of its unique "Saabness." But the new 9-3 is more mainstream and will help Saab survive. At least it still retains some Saab heritage.
