need shocks softer than konis

My rear shocks are leaking and I am ready to replace them. I have a 1999 convertible that already has enough rattles to drive a sane man mad. Does anyone know of a shock that mixes comfort and performance for less $$ than koni?
Below are those that I know of:
Koni - too much $$, but the soft setting is probably what I am shooting for.
Bilstein HD - too stiff
Monroe Sensa trak - sounds great, but not available for 9-3 :(
KYB - crappy?
Boge - OEM?
Sachs - OEM?
Am I missing an obvious choice? If it helps with recomendations, I have a S convertible with 100lbs of stereo stuff in the trunk.
Thanks so much for the help!
