03 9-3SS Problem

driving home tonight after going to the Philly Auto Show...listening to a CD and decide to switch over to the radio. I hit the "RADIO" button on the stereo and off goes the radio display. Strange, so I try to turn the radio back on. No luck. The SID is frozen (claiming that i'm listening to the radio, but it's clearly not on) and completely unresponsive to all buttons on the steering wheel and dash.

It's about this time I realize that my instrument lighting is now much brighter than I had it set at. The climate control display is excessively bright...well outside any brightness I have ever observed. The radio display remains completely dark. I am able to operate climate control normally. Shutting down HVAC does nothing to change the brightness of the display.

After about 20 minutes of stop and go traffic (construction....argh), the SID shuts down completely. Now I have no SID, no Radio, a really bright instrument panel, zero response to all button presses, functional HVAC, and an extremely bright HVAC display.

At this point i'm thinking "okay, let's reboot". I take the next exit, find a parking lot, shut down the car completely. Sit for a moment and restart. Exact same situation. Damn.

Car drives fine. Turn signals work but are silent due to the dead radio. Now I have to get up early to drop her off at the dealership before work...

For the record, exactly 2800 miles. I'm a programmer; I know bugs happen. Doesn't mean i'm thrilled about it happening in my new car.

I'll be sure to post updates if anyone is interested.
