A/C Display Problem - a little long

02 9-3 - 6000 m (and loved every one of them)
this morning on the run in to work with a/c running on econ (at about 72F with a couple of fan bars) - heard a little clunk - looked down at the display to see just the temp (22C) and a horizontal bar - nothing else - hitting off or any other button did nothing - a few seconds later the display just came back on its own and the fan started whirring again -
I am about to take it in for its first check (10km ... about 6k miles) -
I pretty much guess that it will be one of those probs that will only be looked at by the Saab mechanic if he sees it himself - I seem to remember that this has been mentioned before on the board but I searched under a/c and a/c display and display without success
Any suggestions about what the prob might be / what action I should take?
And finally - sounds odd I know but why does 70F (21C) seem to put out cool air in summer (i.e. that is our normal setting) but decidedly warmer / un-cool air in winter? Is that a problem with the a/c, a problem with me or not a problem?
thank you
