I used to pinstripe cars long ago so when I got my Saab I wondered. As a test I used tape stripe just to see how it would look. It was bad. It was tacky. Not even a subtle thing like a different shade of the same color worked. You can try it though. I suggest using tape just to see how it would look. I like the clean look of the car myself.
