We still have 9k miles & 20 mos left on ours, but I'm planning on analyzing the engine oil at about 4k-5k remaining miles to check for signs that the head gasket is going south. Other than that, I haven't decided if it's better to have the dealer look for last-minute things or not. If you know there's a problem (like the "cold shake" on the auto trannies) that's one thing, but I'm concerned they would only do a cursory inspection & deem the car "good" to avoid warranty work (knowing that in 6mos I'd be back for a full OOP repair). And yes, I really think my dealer would do that.
