Mark,
I stole my Saab 9-3.
I priced it bare bones, just got VERY lucky.
I priced out a 2003 93 linear, with midnight blue metallic paint, standard transmission and a sunroof.
Here's where it gets fun:
I ordered a car with Grey interior, but the best they could do with those specs was the parchmont, so my dealer knocked a few more $$$ off the car and threw in the charcoal rubber mats for the notorious Northeast winter salt and grime that will ruin your interior.
The linear i ordered had 15" wheels, but the model i got was Fresh off the boat. Because Saab was late delivering the Arc and Vector Trims, the linear I recieved had the beautiful 16" wheels at no additional cost.
I am VERY happy with my saab.
I took the 4.1%APR and the $2500 off the price of the car
So My car was priced out exceptionally low at $23,500
... with tax around 25..
and after the financing over the next 5 years, i will have paid approx $28K
I put $5K on the car, and my payments are $399/mo. VERY managable for me at 25 years old.
By the way, a friend of mine with a Brand new A4 took a ride in the saab, and has confesed that he may have jumped too early.
Here's a picture of my car
