Hey--

My 2002 SE has been a mixed experience.
The car is based on a old design, and it really seems to show its age.
Reliablity has been average at best...I've been back 5 times to the dealer for unscheduled stupid stuff: window stopped working, SID needed to be replaced (missing pixels), seat belt wouldn't buckle, alarm was acting wierd...and the horrible rattles--

At 20K miles I have more rattles and squeaks than in my 93 Passat with over 150K on it that I traded in for the Saab.

There is pronounced body roll around corners, and the factory tires P6000s SUCK in the snow. Then if you hit a pothole watch out...the whole car shudders as the body flexes.

But then the nice weather comes, I drop the top, and damn, I'm totally satisfied. Here in CT it seems BMW droptops are a dime a dozen, and I wasn't willing to shell out the extra $150 a month in lease payments.

I'm 21...the Volvo would have been driving mom's convertible :)
The only real contender in my mind is the A4 convertible, and the interior was amazing and it was solid as a rock. Not to mention they didn't use cheap plastic in the interior, and the wood trim actually looked real, not plasticky. But their seats weren't as comfortable, and neither was the payment (about $100 more than the Saab).

So all said and done, if I could drive the Saab as just a summer car and garage it all winter when the cold brings out all the rattles and sqeakes and the tires leave me stranded in snow banks...I'd have no complaints.

Dealer service has been terrible...you get no respect as a youngin' in the service department. I send my mom who's 50...they wash it for her when she picks it up. I get it back dirty. Not nice.

Just my 2 cents...I'd do it all over again if I had to...because I wanted a convertible and the Saab is so easy on the budget compared to the other contenders. But at the end of these 4 years I'm not keeping it...I can just imagine how it will rattle then...I'll lose it!
