rear seat room & child seats

I am considering picking up a used 9-3 and wonder what those of you who have child seats installed think of the room in the backseat for forward and rear facing child seats. Also, what year did Saab introduce LATCH or ISOFIX anchors in the car? This would be a 2nd car and not the primary transporter for the 1.5 yr old and 2nd which is on the way (primary is a 01 Volvo XC). I am considering the full range of 9-3's from the viggen to the base, so long as its a manual. Additionally, I'd greatly appreciate any advice on reliability or years to avoid.
I had a 92 900T convertible that I sold last year after 11 yrs of faithful service, including a rollover crash in which the car probably saved my dad's life. I miss it every day and regret the sale and visit the board almost daily to look at the saabs for a fix for sale and read the bb. This is a great bb and source of information.
