Sounds like you've made up your mind...... Posted by Todd [Email] (#958) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Todd) on Wed, 2 Apr 2003 18:42:43 In Reply to: 2002 9-3SE vs 2003 9-3 SS linear?, Nigel, Wed, 2 Apr 2003 17:43:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If it were me I would get the '02.
I'll probably get flamed for saying this by someone but anyway.......I would never buy a 1st year production of a completely new model car, SAAB or not. I don't care how much testing goes on, there are going to be problems. Just go over to the NG 900 bulletin board and ask people who bought a '94 900 (non convertible). They'll tell you.
I have a '00 9-3SE and love it. No problems so far. Fun to drive. I also own 2 classic 900's and I never thought I would say that a "new" SAAB is fun to drive. That being said, I can't think of the 9-3SS as an "improvement". It is just hard to see no SAAB models without a hatchback. I know I'll get flamed for that too.....but, to me the 9-3SS is there to appeal to more people outside the SAAB niche....improve sales, which is the goal of a car manufacturer.....the jury is still out. I live in New England, which has a large population of SAAB drivers and I don't see that many 9-3SS on the road....yet. That may change......time will tell.
That is my opinion......let's see some others.
Have fun with your decision.
