My wife's '03 Arc did a similar thing. It lasted through 2 starts and then went away. We've also had a number of onstar malfunctions that seem to self-correct.
Also killed the battery by not driving the car for 3 weeks while on our honeymoon. That was fun as the saab roadside assistance people insisted on towing the car to a dealer that is close to 2 hours away for us. But at least the car was at home, our friend's died after 4 days at the airport.
We have one very minor rattle as well, but my wife doesn't want to get it fixed because she doesn't trust that the service techs know what the heck they are doing with this car (has to do with getting conflicting information from various shops).
We really like the car, but the service leaves something to be desired. My favorite is the catch 22 of having to schedule service well in advance (oh, also only during normal work hours), but not being able to do that because we have to wait until the car "calls" for service (via SID).
So, sorry for the rant, but I am currently dealing with not being able to replace a rear window (that was broken by a lousy thief) since no one keeps them in stock and then not being able to schedule a service at the same time that the window is replaced unless I want to wait 2 weeks and pay for the service myself.
Oh well, it's our own fault for buying a car that doesn't have a local dealership.
