You have part of the solution, and you really do need to replace the OEM bushings. The poly bushings will not change the ride quality. Why? Vertical shock compponets go from the tire, wheel, hub, strut tube, shock-springs and then the upper strut mount which does not get changed. Notice that there are no bushings in that chain. The poly bushings will simply allow the control arms to keep the strut from floating around in a mess of rubber. And the sway bar bushings will improve the function of the sway bar which will reduce body roll induced roll steer artifacts. But a stiff rear sway bar will have a dominant effect. I don't believe that the sway bar mount to control arm bushings have been addressed by anyone.

I think that you will love the poly bushings. While the control arms are off, you might consider installing koni's while you are at it. They will improve the ride over stock, and you can adjust them to suit. The suspenssion can go onto the bump stops quite easily, all the more so with lower springs. The bump stop scan be cut down to provide more travel for the shocks to do their work.
