Actually, I heel toe all the time - you get used to it. I believe it will help save the clutch by rev matching. I also give the go-pedal a tap to get the revs up before completing a downshift for the same reason (as well as not upsetting the balance)...
Double clutching: I thought that went out with syncros, or am I wrong? I never learned..
