I like the idea, at least for my front rotors. However, it still makes me shell out 200+ dollars for a set of rear rotors that failed due to corrosion, rather than actual wear due to friction. These are the worst looking rotors I have ever seen. One side has large (half dollar size) flakes of shiny metal coming off, leaving behind corroded areas that now are wearing the heck out of the pads. The front rotors don't seem so bad. They simply wear much more quickly than the pads. The wear grooves are completely worn off and there is still a good 50% of the pad left.
Initially I suspected that perhaps my rear calipers were sticking, but I have taken the pads out several times to see if the pistons travel freely, which they do.
So I'm thinking I'll buy either stock 9-3 rotors and pads this time, or maybe as a compromise, the cross drilled Zimmermans advertised for about 69 bucks a pop. I can't see shelling out over 200 dollars for another set of the crappy stock rotors.
Thanks for your comments.
