Ahhhhh, the infamous white smoke and boost gauge issue! The white smoke is from oil in the exhaust manifold(correct, everyone?). This is a sure sign the turbo has gone "bad" and needs replacing. There's been lots of talk about this issue before on here so search specifically for "white smoke" or "white smoke on start-up".

As for the boost gauge thing-when everything is working correctly, the boost gauge should only go about 1/3 of the way into the red(again, correct everyone??). Anymore than that and I think it's bad. So in other words, it should only go a little into the "red zone". I hope this information proves to be correct, just information I've gathered from around here, hope you get it fixed alright, Andrew.
