If your shudder is felt in the steering wheel (when you brake), then you may have warped front rotors. If the shudder is felt throughout the car (not so much in the steering wheel), then you may have warped rear rotors.
Warping is caused when the rotors are severly heated (several panic stops from high speeds) and then cool down too quickly. I had this happen on my 9000 Turbo, in my speeding days, when I would slow to a 55 MPH crawl from doing 85 on the highway as soon as my radar detector chirped... The result was a steering wheel shudder after a few weeks of this and the necessity to replace the rotors...
The reality is that aftermarket parts can be very good - but they need to come for a good manufacturer. Could be that the rotors are made to fit your car, but do not use great materials OR that they turned the existing rotors that were on your car instead of replacing them... The issue with turning rotors is that you are removing material so that you are left with a thinner rotor which heats up and cools down faster - thereby increasing your chances of warping...
In either case, I agree with Dean - go back to Firestone and have them take a look...
