When the AC kicks in or the electrical load from the rad fans, the RPMs take a hit and the ECU tries to recover by increase the air flow of the IAC. This creates a torque load vibration. That is normal and feels like a shudder. This will feel more significant with automatic tranies or in vehicles needing new engine mounts.
If the TB and/or the IAC is fouled, the ECU has been compensating for this but it can put things a bit out if randge. And fouling of the IAC can block the action of the IAC. Cleaning both is good maitenance but this needs only to be done every 50 or 60Kmiles. Clean the TB with carb spray or a cloth with some mild solvent. The IAC should be removed from the vehicle and well away from the paint work. Use carb spray and after drying a bit, lubricate liberally with engine oil to get the pivots lubed.
You will have to find something to work the IAC valve open, a sharp knife tip perhaps, to clean and inspect for crud. Do NOT apply 12V to make the valve open. It is thought that someone fried the IAC that way.
Bad plugs and dirty injectors can add to the problems, but these usually first lead to starting issues. Gap the plugs for turbo engines to .035".
The 94->2000 production has IAC valves. The T7 systems have a motorized throttle body (TB) which eliminates the need for a IAC valve. 1999 and all Viggens are T7.
