But if you have a burning desire to learn standard, then why not take driving lessons? My point wasn't that I don't want to teach him to drive it, but that he has absolutely no reason to learn at this time. I'm the only one in the family that has a standard car, and none of his friends drive it either. So, what's the point in teaching him? For his own curiosity? Let him ride someone else's clutch...not mine. As well, should he bang a wheel on a curb, I'd rather not try to collect repair money from family members (or friends). Some roads are better left untravelled.
I have taught people to drive standard on my car, but they had an actual reason to do so, and weren't able to learn on any other vehicle. But this dude wouldn't be able to catch on...so I think I'll keep my baby parked in the garage, away from the likes of him. :-)
Cheers,
Mark
