Long story short: Viggenn died at the ND/MT state line was towed to the nearest dealer, 620 miles away (!!) in Maplewood, MN. NOW the car is acting fine, here's what happened:
Wee hours of the morning, in desolate eastern Montana, lights & dash start intermittently flickering. Thinking "uh oh alternator" I shutt off AC & stereo...car ran fine except for the flickering fr 2 hours, then abruptly lost all power. Coasted tto shoulder, not even emergency flashers worked. No computer messagge oof any sort hass come up on the screen. Turned keey off, then back on & car started fine & II drove to the truck stop on the state line 2 miles away. 2;30 am,, called Saab. 88am, a tow truck comes to get me. Driver/mechanic looks at car, scratches head...car iiis now acting normaal but tthis is hundreds of miles of EXTTREMEL desolate freewaay. Saab says tow it & they will ayy all "trip interruption" chaarges.
So now I am at a Best Western wwaiting for Countryside Saab to open Monday morning, they are expecting the car. I feel a bit funny about thhe fact that my car was acting normal after it died, what if they find NOTHING wrong with it and expevt me to pay for the towing!?
AAny ideas on what that wasall about? Anyone want to bring me a caramel latte? (joke)
Excuse the typing, I am using a terrible keyboard and web TV in tthe motel room.
