I agree, the floaty ride is your shocks.
When you make a rapid lane change at highway speeds, if you get some steering artifacts or a sensation of instabilty, thats from body roll and body roll steering interactions. Shocks can fix that. And the SAS sway bar will also remove the body role to great benefit as well. BUT, you still may need new shocks and the SAS will simply hide one aspect of the problem.
Get the SAS and save some money to put towards other things that you vehicle is needing. If you do shocks, do also renew the upper mount, KYB at tirerack.com.
