I recently bought an '03 Vector 9-3 and I love it. I have encountered some of the problems that I have found on this message board (most notably the rattling door panel.....grrrrr), however, overall it is a fantastic car. It is my first Saab and I am moving up from a Mitsubishi. No wonder I like the 9-3 so much!
I have read many postings by people who don;t like their Saab and can't wait to buy a BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, etc, etc. First off, the grass is always greener. More than that, there is one thing (many actually) that sets the Saab apart from the..........."others". By the way I have owned many Volkswagens and a Mercedes, so I speak from some experience. That one thing is originiality. While the 9-3 may outperform some and be outperformed by others, it stands alone in terms of uniquness. Let's face it, that's important in a car. My Vector is by no means the fastest, best handling, most luxurious car out there. It is, however, uncommon, unique, and extremely attractive. None of the above mentioned cars are all of those things........especially a Mitsubishi or most other Japanese cars. It also happens to fly.........I like that too.
