Obviously heat would cause temporary fade but if it lasts "semi-permanent" you made need to look at other items.
Glazing could have occurred which kills pads or did the hydraulics suffer from the heat and pressure? On the track we dropped pads constantly for glazing in our Opels/Volkswagens/etc. and watched other teams with newer cars (for whatever reason, ABS maybe?) eat master cylinders.
