From your other posts, I can't see that you have identified this as an MBC or an SMBC application.

When you say 'defaults to overboost', I assume that you mean that the ECU does its limp home mode response to excessive air mass flow or pressure.

You can't overboost a T7, it will fight you by closing the MTB and will go to limp home mode. But you know that.

You are indicating that the ECU develops an attitude about this too. That is interesting, but I have no idea whats going on with that. I assume that you have done a battery disconnect to see what effect that has.

The intent of a properly adjusted SMBC, if you are doing that, is not to force boost levels higher.

One possibilty, is that with cooler air, that only 15 PSI is required to get the air mass flow rate that the ECU wants and that you are simply exceeding that. But for a Stage III, that does sound low.
