I don't know that there is a definitive answer to this. I have used both over the years and both seem to work fine.

Doing a Google search for anti-seize and molylube I found a couple interesting items.

> Some aviation sites, such as Sacramento Sky Ranch, recommend the use of graphite on spark plugs threads. Champion spark plug thread lubricant (a liquid graphite compound) is often recommended by name. It is noted to be very important to leave the bottom 2 to 3 threads bare of anti-seize or lubricant that can harden and cause difficults during spark plug removal or cause fouling/mis-firing of the electrode.

>Lycoming aircraft engine manufacture specifically recommends against the use of graphite on spark plugs:
http://www.lycoming.textron.com/main.jsp?bodyPage=/support/publications/keyReprints/maintenance/sparkPlugsII.html
...It is helpful to use anti-seize compound or plain engine oil on spark plug threads starting two full threads from the electrode, but DO NOT USE a graphite based compound.

> Moly is not recommended for temperatures inexcess of 800F. See this note from JETLUBE:
JET-LUBE's MOLY PETROLATUM anti-seize is manufactured to conform to the requirements of Military Specification MIL-T-83483B. The intended use of this compound is to pre-vent seizing during assembly or disassembly of aircraft engine spark plugs and threaded fasteners and fittings at temperatures below 800°F. MOLY PETROLATUM is the ideal anti-seize thread compound where parts are engaged with components fabricated from similar or dissimilar metals. It is also intended to provide corrosion protection to the metal surfaces below 800°F. Since this compound contains MoS 2 which at higher tem-perature conditions (1000°F and above) it may induce corrosion of fastener or contiguous materials. Accordingly, its use at higher temperatures should be avoided. For high temperature applications, NUCLEAR NONMETALLIC should be utilized.

> Graphite lubrication is not recommende for use with aluminum or plated steel. See this ore from JETLUBE:
JET-LUBE's GRAPHITE PETROLATUM anti-seize is manufactured to conform to the requirements of former Military Specification AMS-2518 (formerly MIL-T-5544C). The intended use of this compound is to prevent seizing during assembly or disassembly of aircraft engine spark plugs and threaded fasteners and fittings at temperatures below 900°F (482°C). GRAPHITE PETROLATUM is particularly suitable for use in contact with austenitic stainless steels, titanium, nickel and cobalt alloys, and similar corrosion resistant metals and alloys. This product contains graphite, which may promote corrosion of aluminum, ferrous, magnesium, zinc or cadmium alloys or platings and should not be used in contact with these metals.

There are no clear answers in this but it is somewhat informative. For myself, I will continue to use either copper anti-seize or molylube for a sparkplug lube depending on what I have available. I think the main meassage may be to use anything very sparingly and to avoid the first 2-3 threads near the tip of the spark plug to prevent insulator/electrode contamination or a hardened deposit.
