Hoffman has an awful service department. I have an 02 SE CV and had many minor issues when I first got the car; Hoffman never seemed to fix them. And on top of it, they never wanted to give me a loaner car, despite needing the car for multiple days. The last straw was when after they had the car for a day and nothing was fixed despite being called and told to pick up my car, I went in to talk with the service manager. He rudely brushed me off with a "Look Kid, I'm busy. Make another appointment and we'll get to it." My age (22) should have nothing to do with the type of service I get. That was it; frustrated I called Saab and they recommended trying another dealer in the area and suggested Saab of Westport or Saab of Greenwich. One trip down to Saab of Westport and they were able to fix everything. Unlike Hoffman, Saab of Wesport always puts in me a 9-3 loaner, not a POS Enterprise rental.

Your filter should be replaced for free under warrenty; I cannot fathom them charging you for that as its replaced under free maintenance anyway.

I know Westport is probably a bit of a ride from you, but I'm telling you its well worth it; I finally have a pleasant service experience again. If you're unwilling to drive to Westport, check out Mitchell Saab in Simsbury. My mom bought a VW from them and their VW department is excellent; I would assume the same from the Saab.
