Hi guys. For the last few weeks, I've noticed in 2nd-5th gear, if i really step on it, the engine really starts to chug-chug-chug at around 12-15 PSI (on my autometer boost gauge). it did this probably about 75% of the time, but sometimes i'd accelerate and it wouldn't happen. anything less than WOT was fine, too. no problems. after a while, it finally tripped my CEL, so i took it to my garage to get their input. i went for a ride with John at the shop and he said it sounds like a DI cassette. he hooked it up to TechII back at the shop and it said "Engine Misfire." so, i got a new DI cassette and some new NGK plugs and installed them both with the help of John. i have been taking it easy to let the plugs get set in properly, but i wanted to test it out to see if the problem has been fixed. nope...now it seems like it might actually be worse. now, it chugs no matter what, and always at 10 PSI. and the chugging is much "faster" now. it sounds like someone's shooting a machine-gun under my floorboards. so, now the CEL is back on. i called John this morning and he said he couldn't think of anything off the top of his head, but bring it in monday or tuesday and he'll look. John had a tool to check the plug gaps. straight out of the box, the first one i checked was .039, so i didn't bother checking any more.
does anyone have any suggestions? i'm going to turn down my dawes MBC for now just to be safe, i guess. i searched on this BB and the NG900 board but couldn't find any difinitive answers for my problem. thanks guys, i really appreciate any help.
