When you eventually have to clean and re-oil the filter, I wouldn't stick it right back in the car. With my spg, I let the newly oiled filter sit on the workbench and drain extra oil for a couple days. I see no reason to install it right away and allow all that extra oil to contaminate the air mass meter wires. If your car doesn't have an AMM then go ahead. THey're hot wire air mass meters and I'm positive oil film don't help longevity.
