Possibly Buying Used 2000 or 2001 9-3 - Any Advice?

My family has been a pretty avid fan of Saab's for a while, and prior to the beginning of this month we owned two (and had owned one previously as well). Unfortunately, I was driving the 95 900S through an intersection at the beginning of this month and someone ran the red light and hit me pretty hard. Luckily (and probably somewhat thanks to the Saab's safety features), I wasn't hurt. Unfortunately, the insurance company totaled the car, and so now I need to purchase a new one. I go to college in Upstate NY, but the rest of my family lives in Northern Jersey, so we've been looking at some 2000 and 2001 Saab 9-3's from dealers around Northern Jersey (Swedish Connection, Mega Auto Sales, etc.). I wanted to ask if anyone had any suggestions or advice about purchasing a 2000 or 2001 9-3? Either about the car(s) itself, or about a good place to purchase them, or about the places we've been looking at so far...? Any help or advice is appreciated!!

P.S. We're also looking at Volvo's and VW's...so if anyone has any advice about these either, please feel free to post it if allowed, or email me directly at mbressman@mail.newsfeeds.com
