Quick calc: ((205 X .55 X 2)-(205 X .50 X 2))/25.4 = .81
Tells me the 205/55 will be over 3/4" larger in diameter (overall height) than the 205/50. Will throw your speedo/odo off by 3-4% and not sure if you'd have clearance issues; 3/4" is significant.
