9-3ss steering wheel problem...

I have a problem that doesn't affect function, but is annoying. My steering wheel is always clicking, like a creeking door that needs oiling. It's like it catches on something. It occurs early in the turn only, just left or right of center. I don't feel it, just hear it, so I try to drown it out with the stereo.
Anyone heard of this? I thought maybe it has to do with the steering wheel lock or turn indicator function. At my 30 day inspection, the dealer's service dept (who I think is totally befuddled by this car) blew it off and said "no abnormality noticed".
BTW, they were also focused on trying to remove the tire pressure monitering system fault code on the SID when I put 4 new wheels/snows on, although the manual said that 4 new wheels would not trigger a warning. So, despite the dealer clearing the default code, it came back immediately, and now I have to press "clear" to remove the warning every time I start the car.)
Great car despite the above!!
