Call Menino's office and tell them you referred by a mutual freind of the Mayor's, Tom Flatley (Irish Potatoe Famine Monument and Flatley Corp, Sheratons etc.), and you were wondering if the someone in the Mayor's Department of Graft and Nepotism Department could help you out with a minor but vexxing problem between you and the vendor towing company. State that you wife is forcing you do complain and seek satisfaction, pols understand this drives many men to complain who would not otherwise do so. Understand the tow company owner is paying off people in the Mayor's office indirectly (Boston may not be Providence, New Orleans or Chicago) but you still don't get city contracts based on price and bid content alone. Afterall, in Boston, the FBI works for the Irish Mob against the Mafia. Kind of like the CIA using the Mafia to Get Castro in reverse but I digress.

Menino is an ok guy if you can get a piece of him, so do so. You may want to take the time to stop by and write him a check in person. This is how things are done. Talk to him about the bastards running Logan and how they are seeking to destroy the North End. He loves that stuff.

Usually if you make nice with the Mayor and offer to donate money to his re-election campaign on the spot, you can get some assistance. You need to be smooth and not lose your temper and also not link A with B overtly. Remember this is business among thieves who grew up together in Dorchester, Bunker Hill, Southie and the North End. Threats do not work with working class toughs, instead you need to outmaneuver the political bastards at their own game which is greed and amoral capitalism. Take some advice from Joe Kennedy, don't get mad, get even.

Good luck and remember the Italians and Irish dems are running the town and the Mayor needs to keep his Irish supporters happy with plenty of pork so don't go trying to reform City Hall.
