IMO, the 325i/Ci is a very well-balanced performance car. Don't let the power output of the six fool you. It delivers a 0-60 of around 7.1 secs with a manual (not slow by any stretch), and handles confidently and predictably. In fact, after a day of autocrossing my M3, I actually turned a faster lap in a friend's 325Ci...it just has great balance.
The Viggen is very fast, lots of fun, but a handful. Personally, I hate torque steer. That's enough to kill that deal for me.
The IS is a really great car. Can't go wrong with Lexus quality, and this car performs like a proper sports sedan...RWD balance.
That said, the very best deal out there right now are the new 9-3's, no question. For <$30K to be able to get a nicely equipped Linear is a steal. If you autocross, track your cars, or just like balance, I might opt for the 325.
