17'' or 18'' Wheels...

Okay, so I've narrowed it down to three different models of wheels for my 1999 9-3. I've got it down to the ASA AR-1's(the BBS RX-ish "blackish" wheels), a set of 5-spoke 2-piece ASA(can't remember but the JS-5's?) or the Mille Miglia Uno's.
My question is, will the ride be really harsh with just 17's or just slightly firmer than stock? Also, would the 18's fit? After all, they are 18" by 8". TireRack says they will, but I don't think they account for rubbing. Would the 18's rub? I'm sure I'm asking inane questions, but they are questions I don't know the answer to. Also, which brand would you say is the better of the two? ASA meets BBS specs so unless told otherwise, I'm saying ASA is the better of the two.
Sorry for the ramble, any advice/knowledge/pictures are greatly appreciated, Andrew.
