FM Modulator Opinions?

Hi All-
I'm looking for opinions on hardwired FM modulators for my iPod in 2000 9-3. Who has had good/bad experiences with specific models?
I'm not interested in getting CD-quality sound (these are MP3's in a car for Pete's sake) - just a clean install with little interference.
I see that the Clarion model has an on/off switch, while the JVC claims it is Auto-on and the Delphi XM doesn't say...is it always on? I'd prefer not needing a switch as long as broadcast FM come in clear when I'm not using the iPod.
Thanks,
Tim
