The Direct-Ignition cassette is in the middle of the valve cover, it looks like a sparkplug cover plate. It's got 4 coils attached underneath, & more electronics (it's more than JUST coils).
Saab now calls it an ignition discharge module (IDM).
I don't think you can 'tune' the IDM, all you can do is carry a spare ($300++).
After you turn off the car, the IDM fires the spark plugs a lot, for a cleaning cycle. Wait a minute or 2 after power off, before putting a screwdriver on that thing.
Use some blue locktite on the 4 mounting screws, otherwise they tend to work themselves loose.
