This is fun, 'cause the more I recommend that you keep it, that you've fixed everything and you'll be fine for awhile, that $800 is only two *lease* payments on a new one, that 125k isn't anywhere close to wearing anything out, the more I stress this, the more likely it is for you to trade or sell it.

It's 'cause folks are most vulnerable to new car fever when they've just spent money on their old car, and exponentially so if there's still more to spend. If you haven't spent a dime on your car in years, you're not likely thinking about an upgrade. Why bother? You're getting away cheap which is the whole idea of an old car, but just as soon as you have to spend some money it's "Oh my god I better dump this thing" and you feel a little better about it 'cause you just fixed it up a little.

Very consistent pyschological phenomona in the car biz....
