DI Failures - a different perspective

When my DI failed last winter I was a bit annoyed at the $300 I had to shell out, but when you do a bit of research on other cars and their ignition systems, the cost for a DI is very reasonable. My dad's 1992 Honda Civic needed a new distributor housing which was about $350, and that is for just one part of the ignition system, while my brother-in-law needed a new set of ignition wires for his V8 1999 Chev Suburban at $200. All in all $300 to replace the entire ignition system is very reasonable. DI is not a bad system at all.
