Viggen tire wear

I've got a 2001 Viggen coupe that has gone through 2 sets of tires in 3 years. The first set were the Dunlop SP 2000s that came stock and my current tires are the Yokohama AVS ES100s. I definitely don't do any racing or anything like that other than regular road driging. I'm getting a lot of wear on the inside edges of the front tires. Is this normal? Can I allevate the problem by rotating them more often? I did replace the Viggen rims with Mille Miglia EV-S rims which are 17" x 8" Do I need to go to a wider tire? Will that cause rubbing with an 8" rim?
My local saab dealer doesn't seem to know what's causing this (which is comforting), but it's only really a problem on the fronts. The rears have about another 10k in them I think. I've read some other posts talking about only getting about 15-20k out of your tires on Viggens. I guess I was just curious to see if other Viggen owners were experiencing the same sort of wear that I am or if anyone has any solutions to the problem.
