Verizon has a recent program that allows your Onstar built-in Cell and your handheld cell to share the same number. You can buy fairly reasonably priced plans through Verizon and use the minutes on your handsfree, integrated onstar phone or on your handheld. It appears that the SAAB implementation of Onstar is either "Digital Ready" or already dual-mode digital. While I prefer the GSM digital system I get with my current provider, T-Mobile, if I can have one cell number for both my car phone and my handheld I will likely switch to Verizon. Plus, using the integrated OnStar cell phone in the car offers the advantages of using the built in Mic and Speakers and all of the other nifty features of the integrated phone. Has anyone else looked into this? The ability to do this may eliminate the need for the bluetooth modification that has been talked about so much. Seems there is now another reason for me to go ahead with the new 9-3SS purchase. The link for the Verizon deal appears below:
