in the Boston area, which means big puddles and wet roads. I have noticed that when driving in significantly wet conditions that my brakes will fade dramaticly upon initial pedal contact. The fade is to the piont that it will scare you for a quick second before they "catch" or "bite" It seems like the pads need to squeeze out some water that may be in there before they engage. Sometimes a very solid stomp on the pedal is needed to get some resistance. After the initial few seconds of panic the brakes act normaly, plenty of stopping power. My question is: Is this "normal"? Are the pads simply getting thin allowing more water between the pad and the disk? Does that even happen??? Any comments or opinions would be appreciated.

PS I will not be checking the pad thickness tonight in the pouring rain!!
