MTL oil change. Overfill plug question Posted by Todd [Email] (#958) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Todd) on Thu, 15 Apr 2004 05:27:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am going to replace the MTL in my 1999 9-3 SE with some new RedLine MTL (the car had Redline MTL put in to the tranny many miles ago so I should be able to just drain and fill).
I was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to remove the overfill plug when filling up the fluid. Is there any danger if it is slightly overfilled? I was planning on using the exact amount of 1.5 liters as specified by the manual. I would like to avoid removing that plug since it looks like it requires removing the front wheel. W/o a floor jack and with not garage or paved surface in my back yard, that is going to be tough.
