Got the Viggen seat in! But now it won't move forward Posted by Todd [Email] (#958) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Todd) on Mon, 16 Aug 2004 17:35:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I got a seat from a 2000 3-door Viggen. Everything went together well even though there is no cutout for the seatbelt where it mounts to the seat frame (I assume it is mounted to the B-pillar on the 3-doors). My car is a 5-door so I have the now unnecessary "quick release" latch for getting into the back seat (big deal).
Problem. When I put the seat in and hooked it all up, the seat moved straight back and forth with no problem except for a little more growning than I was used to. When I put the seat all the way to the back, it now will not come forward. Back and forth, the seat motors make a high pitched whine. All of the other seat movements (lumbar, butt up/down; seat back moves both directions) are working fine.
Any idea what may have happened? It moved forward before I had moved the seat to its furthermost back point. Did it come of the track somehow? Are there retaining screws of some type?
Nonetheless, I can still drive it as is. The Viggen seat is far superior to the seat that came in my 1999 9-3 SE. To bad the rest of the interior is beige.
