Suspension/Steering Wheel Shudder

Hi All ~
99' 9-3 SE Automatic w/ 90k -- noticed a few weeks back on a series of speedbumps on the streets around my home that when the front shocks compress they make a sound...hard to describe -- not a violent knock or anything, just that the compression was creating a sound, like a rubbing sound.
In the past few days I have detected a front end shudder that is visible in the steering wheel and that in fact causes a vibration in the cabin. It occurs when I hit a bump -- and especially at an angle. Even small bumps -- like the compression joints in the bridge I cross to get to work -- can cause it. In fact, on larger bumps it is less pronounced. The car seems to handle fine otherwise --stil sets nicely into corners, etc. It feels as though the suspension is rebounding quickly back and forth. I have also noticed that on the speedbumps, the front end seems to bounce up more than usual as the back end comes down. Part of this could be because I'm now so attuned to it but, like you, I love the handling characteristics of Saab and something clearly has changed with mine.
Hope this explanation gives a clear idea of what is going one. Anybody have suggestions?
