I have a 99 with 46K and it has been flawless. Call your local Saab dealer and be nice to one of the service guy and have him run the warranty work by VIN #. If you serious about the car I would do it and did this with mine. This is key and you can find out if all recall work was done (probably was, hasn't been a recall in a while).

The 1999 Viggen is an excellent car -- very fun and very unique. Of course I am biased;)
