Dealer: Aristocrat in Overland Park, KS
Vehicle: "babied" Black 2000 9-3 SE, 47,500 miles
Last week the dealer was directed by SaabUSA to replace the ignition switch for my problem (lose gauges, radio sound cuts, engine dies (only on 2 occassions), then all returns to normal and the dash lights cycle like the car is being started; entire duration of problem is about 1/2 second). Picked up my car last Sat and it did it again on my way to the car wash -- engine didn't die but the car gave a slight chug. Returned it that day and picked up my demo.
The still have the car (10 days total). They say that they are cleaning leads and making sure everything is connected correctly. I suggested possibly the DIC is failing; they said it was one of the first things they tested (I wonder how they tested it -- I'm unaware of how you would test a DIC).
The dealer has been very professional, but I wonder if this will actually fix it. Anyone think it might be the DIC? I did not notice any smells when the problem occurs.
All and any comments are welcomed.
